establishment of the Moravian bre-
thren, which was erected in the year
1748; the buildings stand on a terrace,
which commands a delightful prospect;
they consist of the hall and chapel, the
minister’s dwelling, a school for girls,

men, another for single women, and a
third for widows : several branches of
trade are here carried on, and the sin-
gle women are famous for their skill in
