Drumgoon par., NE. co. Cavan, on river Cootehill, 88
miles NW. of Dublin—township, 451 ac., pop. 1789;
P. o., T. o., 3 Banks. Market-days,
Friday and Saturday;
has some linen mfrs., and several corn and flax mills.
Lead ore and slate abound in the neighbourhood, but are
uot much worked. C. is a well-built town, and is situated
in a rich district, embellished with many fine seats.
