(partly along the Kincar- dine border) to the sea 4 miles NE. of Montrose; gives the title of earl to a branch of the Carnegies; is 29 miles long, and has salmon and trout.—2. Esk, North, rivulet; rises iu N. of AVest Linton par., Peeblesshire, and flows 17 miles NE. through Habbies Howe, Roslyn Glen, and Hawthornden, Edinburghshire, to confluence with South Esk.
