on the precipitous side of a hill rising from the N. bank
of the river. The principal trade of the town is in corn
and flour; the other industries include woollen cloth
mills, timber and saw mills, and tanneries. A fine
bridge stretches across the Towy ; it was built in 1848
at a cost of £22,000.—2.
