Banff, and carries on trade coastwise and with the
Baltic. A number of the inhabitants are engaged in
the fisheries. There is an extensive distillery (Glen-
glassaugh) in the neighbourhood. Portsoy was made a
burgh of barony in 1550; the Earl of Seafield is the
superior.
