Westerham is an ancient town, and is pleasantly situated on a gentle declivity near the Surrey border. The church of St Mary is an old structure, and contains, among other interesting me- morials, a monument of General Wolfe (1727-1759), a native of the town. The town has also a public hall and market house (1866), and a literary institution and reading-room. The principal trade is in corn.
