called Wentworth Castle, has caused
some little confusion and mistake : this
latter mansion was built in the year
1730, by Thomas Wentworth, Earl of
Strafford, a fresh creation, who was
descended from the brother of the de-
capitated nobleman: the title has not
been fortunate, as, though twice re-
newed, it has become extinct.
